Our point system is coming

We've been talking about the introduction of the points system for a while now. Unfortunately, we're not quite ready to release it yet, but we're almost there... In this blog, we want to give you a sneak peek of what you can expect from the points system.

Points per Inverter

The idea is that you can earn points per inverter. You can think of challenges like "who within a group generates power first in a day," "who generates the most power," or "who has the highest output at a certain time of day." We have a long list of criteria on which you can score points.

You might be thinking, "This is great, but I'm always at the bottom because I have a smaller set of solar panels." We will try to account for this by adjusting the points according to ratio. This way, it's possible for someone with a smaller set of panels to earn more points than someone with more panels. For example, your panels might be the first to generate power (earning you points), or your panels might continue to generate power for a longer period (earning you more points). This way, you can still earn points even with a smaller set.

Weekly Winner and Reset

Each group will have a weekly winner. This means that at the end of the week, the totals will be reset. You won't lose your points; the points you've earned will remain yours. This concept is often seen in games, but usually over a month. We found a month to be too long for now, so we've decided to go with a week.

Badges

Finally, we'd like to introduce the concept of badges in this blog. In addition to earning points within a group for your inverter, you can also receive badges. These badges, similar to those on the Apple Watch, can be earned by being a daily or weekly winner, or by having the highest peak on a day for an entire week. You can earn different types of badges or even earn the same badge multiple times.

We're almost ready. We expect to roll out this new points system to all users in the next few weeks so that everyone can start using it. So, keep a close eye on our blog, because the next post might just announce the release of this points system.
